Chisinau, Moldova – On February 7, 2025, leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals will gather at Moldova State University (MSU), «Regina Maria» Hall in Chisinau for the 2nd INTERSMARTS International Conference on Sustainable Tourism and Blue Growth in the Black Sea Region.
Following the success of the first conference, this event aims to foster dialogue, share insights, and explore innovative strategies for developing a sustainable tourism sector that supports blue growth in the Black Sea region. The conference will bring together academics, policymakers, tourism professionals, and businesses from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Moldova, and beyond, offering a unique opportunity for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The agenda features key discussions on regional sustainability challenges, exploring how tourism-related services can contribute to environmental and economic resilience. The event will kick off with a session on the main challenges and region-specific needs for sustainability and blue growth, providing an overview of the current state of tourism in the Black Sea region. This will be followed by a dedicated session on Moldova’s experience in ensuring sustainability in tourism, where local experts and stakeholders will share best practices and successful initiatives.
Beyond panel discussions and presentations, the conference will also facilitate networking and collaboration, allowing participants to forge new partnerships and explore potential research and business opportunities.
The INTERSMARTS International Research Network was launched to create a strong platform for cooperation between academic institutions, industry professionals, and policymakers working towards a sustainable and innovative tourism industry.
