The section "Promotion of Products and Services in the Context of Sustainable Development" within the International Scientific Conference "Modern Paradigms in the Development of National and International Economy"
2022
The section "Promotion of Products and Services in the Context of Sustainable Development" within the International Scientific Conference "Modern Paradigms in the Development of National and International Economy" provided a great opportunity for exchanging opinions and disseminating the results obtained in the field of economic research.
We would like to mention that we are witnessing an increased interaction phenomenon with researchers from other foreign institutions who have shown openness and interest in the addressed topics, thus ensuring the internationalization of the section by more than 60%.
Economic research bears the imprint of multiple personalities that have influenced the study and research of economic relationships, the development of economic models, thinking, and various approaches to the research process. Higher education is anchored in study, research, and learning, constituting a continuous process within the economic system, and educators continuously improve curriculum content through scientific papers disseminated at specialized events. Thus, in the international context, researchers from the Faculty of Economic Sciences have had and continue to have an active presence as participants in the research and development process in the economic field.
2023
Section No. 3: PROMOTION OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT within the International Scientific Conference "Modern Paradigms in the Development of National and Global Economy," October 6-7, 2023, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
Section 3 Moderator - Veronica Bulat, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof., Head of the Department of Economics, Marketing, and Tourism
The reports presented in Section 3 of the Conference discussed various aspects and issues related to the promotion of products and services in the context of globalization and sustainable development. This is a complex approach that involves specific strategies to reach an international audience in a sustainable and responsible manner. Topics related to digital technology were addressed, emphasizing its powerful role in global promotion. From multilingual websites to social networks and online campaigns, these channels provide direct access to the international audience. Currently, consumers are more interested in purchasing products and services that respect the environment and are produced responsibly. The promotion of articles or services in accordance with ethical and sustainable practices becomes an essential element. As awareness of environmental issues and social responsibility increases, educating consumers about the benefits of sustainable products and services becomes a key element in promotion. Each country has specific regulations for advertising, branding, and sales. It is essential to comply with these regulations and adapt promotion strategies to conform to the laws and culture of each country.
Conclusions regarding the proceedings of Section III: Promotion of Products and Services in the Context of Globalization and Sustainable Development:
- The analysis reveals that the vector of sustainable development in the national economy is composed of interconnected components, including sustainable economic growth, conservation of natural resources, social inclusion, responsible governance, and technological innovation. These components are closely linked and have a significant impact on sustainable development goals.
- Factors influencing investors in decision-making and the results of the analysis provide a new concept for supporting the adaptation and improvement of institutional curricular practices by facilitating the transfer of best practices. This involves developing a specific operational framework for adopting and implementing the microcredit system.
- Promoting gender equality in all aspects of the tourism industry is a critical issue. This includes eliminating gender stereotypes and workplace discrimination, as well as creating more inclusive and equitable working environments. Women can contribute to the promotion of responsible and sustainable tourism, ensuring long-term benefits for the environment and local communities. Internationally, various projects have been launched with objectives such as business management training, marketing, customer service, among others; creating traditional products and selling them in the tourism industry, thus contributing to the economic development of local communities, etc. Additionally, various programs have been initiated in the Republic of Moldova to support and motivate women to start businesses in the national tourism sector.
- Sustainable tourism consumption from a gender perspective goes beyond environmental aspects of sustainability. It involves recognizing and addressing ways in which gender dynamics influence and are affected by tourist activities. By promoting gender equality and inclusion, tourism can contribute to more sustainable and responsible practices benefiting both travelers and host communities. Governments and tourist organizations should develop policies and regulations that promote gender equality in the tourism sector. This may include measures to prevent gender-based discrimination and violence.
- In the context of the Russo-Ukrainian war as a geopolitical issue, climate change and the global energy crisis are the tipping points, especially in Eastern Europe, for the political decision to transition from fossil fuel dependence to renewable energy sources and/or decarbonization. Consequently, there is a need for the diversification of energy resources. The major dilemma in these issues remains the quality of energy resources, especially nuclear energy, which seems to be the "Holy Grail" of decarbonization, and the distribution of energy sources, so they are used in combination with renewable energy sources. Besides potential disadvantages, wind and solar energy require reliable large-scale electricity storage, making it extremely costly. The work presents a highly optimistic perspective on the energy trend analysis for long-term energy consumption and generation, as a case study for major players in carbon emissions seeking the "black swan" of energy.
- The modern digital world, along with many opportunities, poses a significant number of challenges. One of them is the emergence of the phubbing phenomenon as a manifestation of smartphone users' dependence and constant distraction on social networks. In this regard, the issue arises of shaping ethical behavior during social interaction both in the digital world and live communication. The article investigated the specifics of the phubbing phenomenon and its influence on social interactions regarding strengthening the social responsibility of marketing activities by companies in the smartphone industry. The emergence of the phubbing phenomenon and the term for its designation were examined. It was demonstrated that ethical behavior issues during live communication have become more relevant due to the increasing number of mobile phone users. Definitions of phubbing were provided, generated through modern artificial intelligence means, such as Midjourney Neural Network and ChatGPT, as well as connections between the phubbing phenomenon and marketing.
